No better way to celebrate 10 years(!!) since joining the Grant lab than to celebrate at my PhD graduation! @struangrant.bsky.social I am so grateful for all the years of mentorship, and I’m so excited to continue collaborating with you and the rest of our colleagues at Penn/CHOP for years to come!

Everything is bad but I’m finally in possession of my PhD tam so now one (1) thing is good. See you for graduation next month @cambupenn.bsky.social!

2 years today since we lost Casey.

In a way year 2 was harder than year 1. He should have read my thesis and celebrated at my defense, and we should be getting beers at ASHG in Boston to talk about all the cool things I’m doing in my postdoc now. We all still miss him.

Oh you thought a little wind would stop Bostonians from showing up for science? Think again! #standupforscience2025

I was at the original March for Science in DC in 2017 as a relatively optimistic 21 year old, it’s hard to believe 8 years later things have gotten even worse

I’d rather be in lab, but alas, I’ve got to go protest to save science. Again. Tomorrow (March 7), your state capital, time to Stand Up For Science

PubMed is down, so I thought “surely BLAST won’t also be down” and uh… it’s also down.

Folks it’s getting bleaker by the day

If you’re like me you’ve been doing a LOT of doomscrolling. Let me briefly interrupt your doomscrolling with my latest finished crochet project: a granny square afghan inspired by Spanish/Portuguese tiles that I gave to my sister for Christmas

Deeply ominous warning from Amtrak about my train home today on the Northeast Corridor (we did, in fact, experience a delay a lengthy delay)

I’ve had a great time these past 2 days at the Broad Retreat learning about some extremely cool science, and getting to spend time with my awesome new labmates! I’m so grateful to have gone from one amazing lab environment at Penn to another one in Boston 😊

I’m thankful this Thanksgiving Day for re-finding my science community here 🦋 as well as being surrounded every day by people who support me and my science. And also for this mac and cheese that I made and will be bringing to the Friendsgiving function this evening!

It’s been a whirlwind month of moving/starting a new job/the end of democracy as we know it, so it was lovely to have my little sister in town this weekend to decompress! We may have been 3rd to last in pub trivia, but we’ll always be 1st in our parents’ hearts 😂

I will never waver on Philadelphia superiority, but Boston autumn has been truly incredible 🍁
