Record broken!! For a Black man to break the record held by a white man who fought against the Civil Rights Act is momentous. Thank you, Senator Booker, for speaking for the American people who are afraid of losing healthcare, social security, and basic freedoms under the current administration.

Go, Senator Booker! And the Senators lined up to ask long questions so he can have a break! (Because they also watched The West Wing and learned that long questions are allowed.)
I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:

Thursday nights now mean watching The Pitt. It is so enjoyable. Did I rewind last week’s episode several times to rewatch Taylor Dearden’s Dr. Mel King make an adorable face while holding a newborn baby? Yes, I did.

Tesla is recalling nearly all Cybertrucks after it found that an exterior trim panel was falling off and creating hazardous driving conditions, the company said on Thursday. This is the eighth recall for the model.

The recall of about 46,000 vehicles includes all models that were manufactured from November 2023, when the Cybertruck was first produced, through February.

I was just thinking this morning about how narrow my musical exposure was in my teens… like why did I listen to the same albums over and over and not branch out more? And then I remembered: OH YEAH WE HAD TO PAY FOR AND PHYSICALLY CARRY AROUND EVERY ALBUM WE LISTENED TO. THE WHOLE ALBUM.

These commercials talking about “all new” All Dressed chips. Canadians know the lie that this is anything new! (Yum, by the way.)

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why.

What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?

I’m four for four on my Oscars ballot so far. Looks like my husband will be the one fixing our girls’ broken toilet! 😂

I stand with Ukraine.

And trans people, and vaccines, and immigrants, and people of color, and women, and park rangers, and the planet, and our historical allies, and and and…. This is exhausting.

First confirmed measles death in 10 years, 880 billion in Medicaid cuts, and tens of thousands of government workers losing their jobs.

But hey— we got the Gulf of America!

My dad starts a new Alzheimer’s drug tomorrow, approved by the FDA recently and covered by Medicare. This garbage administration is trying to cut these programs and could ruin his chance at an extended life. They must be stopped.

Democrats, we don’t need you to mobilize to flip the house in two years. We need you to FIGHT NOW. Fight for immigrants, for queer kids, for health care, for cooperating with our allies and not isolating ourselves from our neighbors. For planes to not effing crash in the sky. Two years is too late.

“The curse that was laid upon Eve – her desire would be for her husband, & her pain in childbirth would be great – even shows us how patriarchy, subordination, and pain are part of the Fall. They were never God’s original intent; they are a consequence of sin.” – Sarah Bessey, Jesus Feminist page 91

This Advent, for the first time, I have been struck by the image of Mary and Joseph alone in a barn when Mary gave birth to Jesus. Hebrew women have been midwives for each other for centuries before Jesus was born.

Hoping BlueSky will replace what I had on Twitter before it was ruined. I’ll read anything about theology, progressive faith, higher education, teen development, movies and TV, musical theater, news and politics, and my favorite sports teams. Enneagram 1 and ESFJ.
