Xeno, the dogs and I are on our way back to the UK. We stopped in Guangzhou for 24 hours (just in case there was a paperwork snafu) so we're seeing the sights before our midnight flight tonight. Anyway, here are a few snaps from yesterday.

I'm not posting on here much yet, but that is going to change relatively soon. For now, I'm in the process of getting packed up to move (with a toddler, the dogs, and a parrot) back to the UK. It's incredibly stressful, eating up a lot of my time and energy (during finals week!), but it's good.

So...I had an eventful week. Viral vertigo is a snaggletoothed bitch. But now I can add a second extended stay in a Chinese hospital to my repertoire of stories.

Xeno's helping me decide what to read.

Today, my students discovered that if they can steer me onto the topic of comparative mythology, they can successfully derail class for a good ten minutes. They already knew that they could do this via poetry. I'm going to have to watch that.

All of the teachers at my school had to have professional photos taken at the beginning of term. They took five shots and THIS is the one the school went with. My bisexual awkwardness is in full swing. This is why I don't do photos.

This was a lovely way to start the day.

If you haven't read this yet, rectify that error immediately. Especially if you (like me) have a deep and abiding love of Huckleberry Finn. (Tom Sawyer, the little shit, can go fuck himself) Anyway, it's a phenomenal novel. I inhaled it.
