1/ 📣Nearly, 200,000 people with a learning disability rely on PIP to support them with the unavoidable price of being disabled. These aren’t optional costs, and they won’t simply disappear because of cuts to PIP.

If you've been affected or likely to be affected by the #DisabilityBenefits cuts proposed by @ukparliament.parliament.uk on Tuesday, the consultation on the Green Paper are open until 30 June (likely to be extended due to lack of easy read option).
We know that many people will be very worried about the changes to benefits announced this week by the UK Government. The Department of Work and Pensions has launched a consultation but there is no easy read version yet. www.gov.uk/government/c...

UK Government’s £5bn benefits ‘crackdown’ will leave many disabled people in Wales considerably worse off without fundamentally tackling the systemic barriers to employment and independent living.

Once again disabled people have been cruelly let down. 1/2

The Chancellor’s latest announcement on welfare cuts feels like a gut punch.

Cutting benefits without addressing the root causes behind the increase in claimants - poor mental health, poor work conditions, and poverty - is short-sighted and dangerous.
