I was @yabunonaka1 over there. Books, dogs, wildlife, Japan, ex-journo, still news addict. Bristol, often Wales and Norfolk, increasingly London.
Whiskers on (my nephew's) kitten. Is there a word for that? K(n)itten, maybe?

I didn't do many, but this is a bit of a classic: Heathrow arrivals on March 21st 2020. Collecting daughter from one of the last available flights out of Japan. No quarantine, no testing, not even any leaflets offering advice, just these posters and hardly any people.

Found it! First edition, not surprisingly. I will add it to the TBR pile(s).

I am #notamuseum but would like to preserve for posterity this very fine Cuban sow, who is threatened with redundancy in her long-time role as my profile pic on XTwitter.

You can tell this site is taking off as the fake Martin Lewis accounts peddling crypto are here. Oh well, I suppose it was inevitable.

Thanks for the reminder, New Scientist. It's not as if we don't have multiple other doomsday scenarios to worry about at the moment.

It seems to be my BlueSkyVersary today, though I haven't been on here (or the other place) so much recently.

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last tv show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?

@yukokato1701.bsky.social I am at the RSC, and they gave the audience lanyards to wear. I should have brought my real one: spot the difference!

Northern Lights are visible crazily far south in the UK at the moment, even from the middle of London (this is Brixton)

Is it really nearly May? It doesn't look or feel like it up here. But at least the curlew seem to be back.
