Finally, we recommend community resource management and discuss the technical challenges key to more efficient genome editing in cichlids, especially for HDR. Ending with a discussion of the evo-devo research avenues that would be opened up by these advances 🤩

At the genome editing workshop, it became clear that despite commonalities, there was a diversity of approaches.

We synthesised all these options and highlighted the technical bottlenecks that require attention. Incl. lots of tips from editing strategies to breeding schemes!
