Some recent adventures that reminded me that joy still matters especially when things are difficult

The forest is a healing place
Visiting a waterfall in the Pisgah National Forest as a detour on a mountain bike ride. I went hiking in Baker Snoqualmie National Forest - no destination in mind. Here the quiet of the forest surrounding the trail was very peaceful. The Bogachiel rain forest has a lot of little camping spots tucked away along the river. We set up camp in a beautiful stand of birch trees, surrounded by white bark swaying in the breeze.
