Storm chaser (🌪️), school counsellor (🎓), photographer (📷), and cross stitcher (🪡). Calgary, AB based, but I'm happiest road tripping.
@adolwyn in most other places.
That YYC to YVR view is one I never get tired of. See you soon Salt Spring! @davemason.bsky.social

I feel like you’d enjoy the road trip I’m going to take once I retire or take a sabbatical. 😂

Someone decided to show us what we were late on preparing this morning. When you’re 20, breakfast (and the three other meals of the day) are serious business. @davemason.bsky.social saved the day and our lives from what could have been an angry hungry cat.

I haven’t been keeping a thread of my read books anywhere this year, but popping by to say that if you’re in need of a book that will make you fall in love with its characters and then rip your heart out over and over again, you should definitely read “A Little Life” by Hanya Yanagihara.

😭😭😭😭😭😭 💙📚

SPC is just trolling us now, right? 😂😂

… New Zealand, are you ok? That 7.0 earthquake might have been less than ideal.

Highly recommend a read of this book if you haven’t read it and are interested in the drivers of homelessness.

When the most incredible partner in the world buys your favourite flowers and chocolate truffles for Valentine’s Day and it’s a total surprise. 😍😍😍 what a king you are, @davemason.bsky.social.

Hey BSky friends! She hasn’t posted it here (but did say to share this with our networks) - Canadian Geographic is looking to work with an Indigenous editor for what sounds like an amazing project. More info in the image below. Tagging @xelaepop.bsky.social here too.

Storm loving romance reading book fans - have we all seen this book that just released!? Whirlwind by Kayla Grosse. Apparently it’s a Twister-inspired romance with a Jensen Ackles lookalike for the male main character.

I’m putting it on my TBR immediately. @wxliz.bsky.social have you read it? 📚

Sounds like the audience is trying to help them know it’s not their singing/not about them… I hope it’s like that for every game. But also, if Trump says no more anthems, that will really bug folks so…

A friend just posted this in one of our reading discords so the feeling seems to be pretty uniform. 😂 (I haven’t read any of the series so I am oblivious).

If you need some optimism in your reading world, I highly recommend giving this collection of essays/interviews a read. We’ve heard all the doom about our climate emergency. “What If We Get It Right” takes a moment to share a vision of the future if we do make changes. It’s hope, for a change.

I turned on require alt text and it has saved me multiple times.

Officially an award winner with three other amazing weather photographers. Going to frame this and put it on my wall at school so when parents yell at me I can point to it and whisper, “I’m award winning 🥹”.

Probably not though.

I know I'm supposed to be a storm/weather account, but when it's January and there's no good weather anywhere close to me, I find other hobbies. Let me tell you, my notion site to keep my cross stitch organized is giving me JOY right now. I built this from a blank page; no template.

Poutine liked her stairs onto the bed so much (and has been a noticeably happier, in less pain cat since using them) that we got her a smaller set to get her more easily onto her her other favourite place - a throne fit for a Poutine with a heating pad for cats.

I wonder where it was I was sick with Covid? 😂

Making Notion dashboards is 2024s Geocities page-making.

Which is to say I am obsessed. Yes, all that updates on its own once the project has been added. Who needs to cross stitch when you can baby code instead?

It’s also hitting my dopamine brain beautifully. Who needs storms? 😂🫣

This is all we get for tornado alerts.

If one agency can do messages this long, why can’t Environment Canada in their tornado warnings?

When your 20 year old cat’s highlight of her day is snuggling with you at night, but she can’t manage the jump up anymore… well, you get her stairs. We’ve got you, Poutine!

It’s cold and snowy and I’m craving the warm of field scented inflow and a storm in front of me.

Hey Canadian storm and weather friends - do you ever look at the FOCN product to see the forecast discussion for any significant weather day? If you do, look at this note. The MSC is considering discontinuing the issuing of this discussion. Thoughts? Email: focn45@ec.gc.ca

Repost for visibility?
