I know a lot of Racing types are complaining about the 10:30 start at Catterick tomorrow. But it's the right thing to do for Racing. It creates a lovely long build up to the key races at Ascot. Makes for lovely betting and trading markets there as well.

If the goverment wants to raise taxes, fuel duty is an easy win. Crude Oil is down over 30% in the last two years and any increase won't be felt that much from a behavourial viewpoint or in economic activity. It looks a slam dunk way of raising revenue and they can cloak it in green credentials.

I didn't so as well as last year, but still did ok for 15 minutes behind my desk. The Arc is one of those races that I've never lost on. I first traded it in 2006, when I made £138.
