I wouldn't rule it out entirely! Hammocks come in all kinds of capacities and even a decent DIY wooden stand can hold a large weight. You could hang two up side by side :] if not that tho, I'd check out DIY mattresses. That way you can get components you need and replace pieces as they wear out!

If I may spread my propaganda, I'd recommend hammocks for full time sleeping. Helped a lot of my joint issues and didn't cost several hundred dollars :>
