Neurodivergent Aussie school library assistant. Love reading and walking my dog. Gen X.
I'm just so grateful that I live in Australia, a country with Medicare...universal health care.
Yes, there is a very small levy in our tax system, but seeing a doctor is either free or greatly subsidised. My father had a knee replacement (yes, he had to wait a year for it), but it was free to him.

Channel 9 news last night it was....Israeli hostages and Palestinian detainees / prisoners.
Revolting!!!

Magpie swooping season in my Sydney suburb.
I carry an umbrella 🌂.
But when I'm walking my dog, they leave me alone...and she's not a big dog.

Has she any idea what is going on???
Is she delusional!!!???

100%
I'm having massive issues with my father's wife. I'd sooo love just to walk away from her and never talk to her again. But I'm staying civil...for the sake of my dad's mental health. But, society says...family is everything.
But what about if family / or family's partners are absolute shit!!

This is the reality of motherhood. It's not all sunshine and rainbows.

Actually, Japan is now a destination of choice for Aussies.
They are a young couple, both 24 years old, and think they're invincible. They're determined to go to Florida.
July 10, 2025 at 9:17 PM
I'm posting from Australia.
A young couple we know are getting married and honeymooning in...Florida...at Disneyworld...later this year.
The bride to be's mother is extremely worried. There are other Disneylands and Disneyworlds to travel to...Japan would be amazing.

This is the kind of post that I, for some crazy reason, needed today.
Yes, 56 yes old. Totally dysfunctional childhood coupled with witnessing DV as a child. My lifelong anxiety is just part of me!!
But actually good to know that I'm not alone.

Yes, like others, I do worry about her children. The trauma that they will go through for the rest of their lives!!

It's interesting here in Australia.
Australia media seem to be bypassing LA 2028 Olympics and promoting Brisbane 2032 as the next scheduled Olympics.

I'm pretty sure that in Rump's inauguration speech, he thanked Elmo for his help with computers.
Why hasn't this been investigated?!?!

There was part of Rump's speech at inauguration thanking Elmo for his help with computers!!!
Why hasn't anyone investigated this?!?!

Hmmm, I'm quite a few years away from getting it free...but at $600!!!

Nicolette is currently leading by 40 votes...according to AEC Tally room.
May 19, 2025 at 5:28 AM
The difference between the two is getting smaller and smaller.
I hope that the final result is under 100 and they'll be a recount.

My Facebook algorithm is now sending me posts on my timeline from her Facebook account.
I am totally against everything she stands for.
But, a lot of Facebook comments support her (though they may be bot accounts).
I'm also finding Facebook to be veeery right wing though.
May 13, 2025 at 9:25 PM
Yes, by the looks of her Twitter post, she's waiting for each and every last vote to be counted. Good on her.
May 10, 2025 at 1:14 AM
Brilliant 👏.

I think the Murdochs are becoming more and more irrelevant as the years go on. Gen Z don't read or listen to Murdoch media. The current year 9 and 10 students who will vote in 2028 have no interest in Murdoch. The voting landscape is a changing.

A great sense of relief here. And yes, I was absolutely disgusted with LNP for using the Voice as part of their campaign.

Maybe the physical old-fashioned paper ballot form (even the senate tablecloth of a form) takes away computer hacking issues. Paper can still be recounted.
...and this thought is from my very un- technological mind.
AEC did a brilliant job.

Jane Hume was on channel 7's panel.
She was also desperately waiting for pre-polls.
May 4, 2025 at 5:00 AM
Did some channel surfing but landed on channel 7.
It was a delight to watch. Jane Hume was scrambling indeed.
