I was an influencer before there were influencers, but the world moved on.

When the pandemic shut down everything, I learned to make every dish that I had a craving for, and I haven’t stopped.
Oh, and a batch of deviled eggs that sustained me through all of this.
Two days of cooking.

Five pies
- Apple
- Pumpkin
- Nutmeg Maple
- Cranberry Pecan
- Chocolate Chess

20 Pound Roast Turkey
Giblet Gravy
Cranberry Relish

Mashed Roots
Sweet Potato Casserole
Roasted Lemon Caper Brussels Sprouts
Macaroni and Cheese
Corn Bake
Cornbread Pecan Sausage Dressing

Went to five pies this year.

I dunno, is this big enough?

Since the last time I checked, Threads has gotten better. It’s no longer just people butching about toxic encounters with other people.

There’s more random interesting content now, like good social media used to have.

My pie routine for Thanksgiving involves figuring out which pies can be made the day before, which ones should be made the day before, and which ones absolutely need to be made the day of.

It’s pie season.

Several months on, does anyone actually know someone with an iPhone Air?

I don't understand deep frying a turkey. By the time the internal temp by the bone reaches 160 degrees, all of the meat from the outside to that point would be overcooked to shit.

You eat so much fried food the rest of the year, why you gotta?

Happy Michelin Awards Night, Philadelphia (and also to the other first-timer, Boston).

May the odds ever be in your favor.

I picked up a package of instant ramen that is so spicy, it is making my skull itch.

Bombarded with all of these ads for catering / outsourced Thanksgiving dinners with the notion that it “lowers the stress of the big day”.

For a lot of folks, the stress comes from interacting with family members. Having a kitchen and cooking to escape from them is a refuge, not a stressor.

I've been fascinated by the series “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars”, which spends each episode with restaurants that are in the running.

I knew that Philadelphia was under consideration for the first time this year, but I did not know that the ceremony awarding those stars is in six days.

And just like that, we now have a local Trader Joe's.

“Would you like to send this article to yourself?” says the pop-up that's blocking the view of the article that I came to the site to read. Make it make sense.

Internet went out but I'm still chugging along.

When I was your age, the telecom companies used to charge you $45 to tether through your phone.

There were a handful of positions on the ballot where no one was running. I was tempted to write in my own name, but with my luck I'd probably win and I have no idea what a county auditor does. I would have to fake it until I made it.

Today, I learned that the coroner is an elected position in these parts.

Discovered a pop culture gap that needs to be addressed.

Found ourselves at the top of the Philadelphia Art Museum steps at sunrise.

I was explaining the Rocky story to G, and it turn out all this time she thought that Rocky was a real historical figure.

So now, I have to show her the movie.

I am of the age where I remember playing the original Tetris, both on a CGA monitor on PC as well as a grayscale Nintendo Gameboy, complete with the MIDI soundtrack.

Yesterday, I played the VR version for the first time. Same gameplay but a revolutionary leap forward.

As a fan of the Alien franchise, I absolutely loved Alien: Earth. Finished the first season yesterday and it left me wanting more.
