Had the thin metal ones from my dad. Too big for anything other than bulky jumpers.
Bought the striped ones online. Adjustable but a bit awkward generally.
Bought the other metal ones at men's wear shop. Expandable. Great so far.

20% teachers in this union concerned about leadership opportunities. Something of a difference between people who want to work with students and engage with their education, and people who want to run schools?

Saw the headline. Checked to see who wrote the article. Worth reading? Nah!
(Maybe if it was an article on weaknesses n ABC "journalism" ...)

The decisions that Curtin had to make!
I visit family in Canberra a few times a year. Always stop by to pay my respects to Mr Curtin and Mr Chifley.

Darcy Dunstan and others called out by The Guardian today for using his military uniform to campaign - despite requests from Defence not to.
April 25, 2025 at 5:04 AM
How do you feel about parties whose candidates campaign in military uniforms?
April 25, 2025 at 4:50 AM
I find this photo intimidating, at the very least. Threatening, even.
In what other societies have/do political figures wear military uniforms?
April 25, 2025 at 4:48 AM
Just a bit intimidating?
And a bit further to the right?
April 25, 2025 at 3:23 AM
Darcy Dunstan
Corangamite
Intimidating at all?
Leaning a good deal to the right?
April 25, 2025 at 3:22 AM
Liberal candidate for Corangamite. Uniform really bothers me!

"Liberal candidates using military uniforms in election campaign ads despite repeated pleas from defence department"
Article in The Guardian.
This is the Liberal Candidate for Corangamite as he appears around the electorate.
I find this way too far to the right. Threatening. Trump-ish.

Really good experience this a.m. First time election campaign door-knocking. Got paired with excellent current member / candidate - Libby Coker for Corangamite, Victoria. Learned heaps about Labor policy not getting through the media - and about genuine engagement with all people.

Took this earlier. Heading home from office of Libby Coker, Labor - Corangamite. Couple hours of calls. Not many answer early evening. A few answer and politely decline. One hung up. A long chat with the mother of two children with complicated needs. Voting for Libby anyway but a good chat.

The photo that won me over to Anthony Albanese.
The Prime Minister in Marrickville slipping out to get the paper delivered the morning after the election. Some Murdoch rag trying to embarrass him. Nah, our PM is a real person.

Looking for another news photo I'd saved.
Came across this.

Family in my neighbourhood drew and wrote cheering things on footpath at their place during covid lockdowns. Made me smile.
They also established a "Spoonville".

Always bugs me how much is left in these pump bottles. 200ml so far out of this one. I know I won't get all.
Also tubes you cut up to get the full amount from.

Saw a post elsewhere about Obama portraits being removed from the White House.
Loved (and saved) this photo.
The expression on the child's face! And the expression on the face of the attendant ..
