Sure. Hungerford. Cumbria. Plymouth. Maybe you’re right about the Troubles. I think knife crime is far more prevalent here. Harder to control knife ownership.

What constitutes a mass shooting? Is it classified by number of victims? I could name a few over the last 40 years but I’m pretty sure it’s not as many as they say on there?

We were allowed a little too up loan. £2k over the 3 years. Paid it back a tiny amount a month. I’m not sure I’d have gone if it was now. The debt they have now would have terrified me. I’ve never used my degree. Joined the railway at 23 and been driving since 2003. But I loved being a student.

Fees paid by the LEA and a full grant. I’d like to think had I the prospect of a £50k bill at the end I’d have spent less time in the bar but I’m not so sure. Great times for the working class student. Polys were brill. Should never had made them into Unis. Different vibes at polys. More political.

Glad to know I contributed to the fall of apartheid by being a constant in the bar. They say the young dont drink as much now. I remember there being a book out when I went outlining cheapest Poly/Uni’s to live. Wolves had the cheapest beer - 90p for a pint of bitter. That and a 2 C minimum? I’m in!

I work with a Stoke supporter. Despite being his clubs rivals, he supported PV in the play off final a few years ago, because it was a Stoke club. So mature! We both agreed the chances of that happening with me was…unlikely! 😆

My mate was there when it was South Staffordshire Polytechnic - 89-92. If I remember correctly one of their SU bars was called the Gary Lineker bar (that feels like I’ve made that up. I’ll have to check with her). A bit different from ours at Wolves - Mandela, Biko and Julie Livingstone bars.

Stoke isn’t far from me. I did a Union rep course there. As a city it’s been left to a sad decline. How different things might have been for Stoke if the national stadium had been built there. I hope you had an oat cake?

Ours outside our PO is the same. Bring changed so we’ll be able to print labels at home and scan and drop off at the postbox. Solar panels on the top. Great for getting parcels away when the PO is closed. Annoying right now as we are having to drop cards in a sack in the PO.

Saw a reply to a David Baddiel post on IG. Didn’t care, it was collateral damage & deserved. It proves what David has written about in the past. Jews Don’t Count. They can’t even take a day off when kids, rabbis & Holocaust survivors are murdered. I find it exhausting & I’m not even Jewish.
