I do want to know why you think Haikyuu is better than Ping Pong though. Imho it's one of the best sports shows ever made.

Is it worth it to watch the show over reading it then? I read 20th Century Boys and loved it and had Pluto on my short list to read next but if the shows that good I might aswell watch it

They are just exaggerating for the joke. I've seen all of these shows and they are all accurate in a broad sense but aren't meant to be serious analysis of the characters.
