The mixing also bummed me out. Parts where the entire ensemble come in and are supposed to blow you away feel muted and bland. No shade to the singers, I’m sure their performances were spectacular.

Exactly! Live vocals can be pitch corrected. I feel like they used that as marketing, hoping that the general public wouldn’t understand that.
