I was never a trout fisherman until last year. We don’t have many opportunities to fish seriously for trout in Indiana where I live so my experiences have been limited to two 3-day trips to Wyoming’s Green River. Wow, might as well start at the top at this age!

Everyone has their own favorite dog breed. My favorite breed has always been the English Setter. I trained several to hunt upland birds over a 35 year period. In addition to being the classic upland bird dog I found them to be excellent hunters and affectionate, well behaved house dogs.

I started smallmouth fishing when I was 25 but didn’t start taking them on a fly rod until was 70 years old. Now, 8 years later I can’t get enough of it! Many places in southern Ontario can be heaven on earth for top water action at certain times of year or at certain times of day.
