Thanks David, it wasn't a criticism; I choose to listen to your podcast free with adverts, but don't do a paid subscription as I already pay for other podcasts

Thing is with specialist podcasts, I'm already paying a pod for their views; the other pod has the same views, but in a slightly different format - why would I pay twice for the same views? Not a criticism, just an observation

Who are the people filming & why do they sound so happy?? Are they secret Ukraine supporters, or just locals enjoying the spectacle?

I'm surprised the Ukrainian leadership is not making a big publicity deal of this to wind up the Russians & make them make hasty unwise decisions

I'm surprised Ukraine is not making a big deal of this in the comms sphere

I think it's even more weird, given that Trump & Putin are clearly reaching the end of their biological lives, to obsess on 'what they might do next'. Phillips O'Brien has a good handle on the dynamic

You can't focus on Trump & ignore Sudan, or hurricanes, or Xi & Putin, or global climate change and mass migration. Sarum, by Edward Rutherford is a good antidote too

When I get very wound up about current affairs, I tend to retreat to millennial-scale sci-fi authors from my youth, like Frank Herbert & Ursula leGuin - not even a 'this too will pass' moment; rather 'this is just part of the story of life'. I focus on being cooperative & kind to my immediate circle

Here is some technical details. Quite likely that the russians are bluffing, although a cruise missile flying for 14 hours would have been picked up by monitoring systems, i guess.

This is interesting Peter. The world seems to have been hijacked by 'middlemen' who produce nothing, bur sit between 'us' the consumers & 'you' the producers. My car broke down recently & what should have been a phone call to a local garage took 3h of international diplomacy & a £40 'fee' to resolve

'daycare' is a word usually used more often to describe facilities used by elderly people during the day who go home at night to their own residence
