Was in early to get my seat at the opening lectures for @yeatssocietysligo.bsky.social #YeatsSummerSchool in Sligo, now in its 66th year - I’ve spent the last 50 wanting to attend! So excited. And two excellent talks kicked us off this morning

Cúirt literature festival at 40: ‘There is a sense of an Irish writing culture exploding around the world’
When I was an impoverished student sustained by Pot Noodles, the Cúirt International Festival of Literature introduced me to literature I would not have encountered otherwise

Loved this - am a big fan of the power of letters to instantly bring us back to the past in the way that a text or email can never do - and also have a stash of treasured letters from the '80s and '90s
Delighted to have a script on tomorrows @sundaymiscellany.bsky.social. Called Letters From The Past, it describes the joy of finding a bag of letters from 1983, written by my Ma to me who was working as a rep in Gran Canaria for JWT. I hope you enjoy. 9am

Setting the clock! (Taking the extra hour into consideration)
The delight of a handwritten letter, the beauty of Ireland's South-West, and a mother-daughter rite of passage. #sundaymiscellany is on the way
