Later, I took on new responsibilities as Deputy Permanent Representative, and subsequently as Chargé d’Affaires a.i.

It has been a professionally challenging and deeply rewarding experience, filled with learning, teamwork, and meaningful moments in the multilateral arena.

At the beginning of this chapter, I was in charge of health and environmental issues, working on the challenge of access to COVID-19 vaccines and participating from the outset in two fascinating yet complex negotiation processes — the treaties on pandemics and plastic pollution.

The commitment she left to science and nature will continue to guide the path in defending the environment. #JaneGoodall

As a tribute to her extraordinary legacy, I share some photos of her beloved subject of study — eastern chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii) — which I was fortunate to photograph over 10 years ago in Nyungwe National Park, Rwanda.

Such was the case with this group of hinds: after watching them for some time, a change in the wind betrayed my presence despite the camouflage. A single alarm call from an adult was enough for the herd to close ranks and enter a state of alert, before quickly moving away.

I also had the privilege of chairing the Credentials Committee — a key body that safeguards the principle of tripartism and the autonomy of each constituent group. An honor to help uphold one of the core foundations of the @ilo.org . #ILC113 #SocialDialogue

#WHA78 also marked the adoption of critical resolution on lead exposure, advancing protections for health and the environment. This resolution was put forward by Peru 🇵🇪and other countries🧠⚠️ #HealthAssembly
