Wow, great lyrics hit ALL the important points, great voice, simple melody, haven't heard a new one like this in a long time.

"...just last week was kinda tough I put a kid in cuffs I tied a lady to a van..."

Rain fell first thing on another foggy morning, then suddenly the sun shone and the fog disappeared. The sun returns and everything is decorated with sparking raindrops and autumn colors revived.

When there's a spy in your storage shelves.

Look in the very center of the photo. Not sure if Sienna is unhappy about me taking over my own work table which of course she owns because she uses it more than me, or if she's just making sure I actually get something done while I'm there.

Klepto Cat Book Cover 69, "Within a Paw's Reach"

I designed and illustrated this cover in March 2024 for book 69 in Patricia Fry's Klepto Cat Mystery series welcoming the flowery garden in early spring. Cats and gardens, that's a theme for me! And that meant I had more than enough reference photos.

I had painted "Green Apples" earlier that year, and the woman who purchased it decided that she would like two paintings for the spot, identical in size, matting and framing and perhaps style.

After the Flowers

What's left behind after the flowers have faded, dried, their petals blown away...new life. The seeds for next year, enough to feed some birds, enough to house a few insects to overwinter, tucked in and protected from winter winds,...

"You want to go somewhere in your car? Can't you see l'm bathing?"

We've had several dark overcast days and today there is still fog from a heavy fog this morning. But finding community cats at their daily tasks as I run my errands surely brightens up the landscape.

Let's hope this time history doesn't just rhyme, but repeats.
Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Bella's Morning Composition

It's just a wonderful thing to walk into the kitchen in the morning and see this composition. Bella's solid rounded shape with her details of the dangling paw and its shadow contrast with the angular shadows and heavy shape of the cabinet.

An absolutely precious #littlemimicat sitting on the very corner of the deck railing intently watching...something in the back yard, November 2020. She was 17 years old but navigated the walk as if she walked on the pavement.

Allegheny River Reflections, pastel, 12, x 16, 2017 © Bernadette E. Kazmarski

This is a view of the Allegheny River in Western Pennsylvania, seen from Tarentum. I took a quick walk through the park along the river on a beautiful autumn day and took as many photos as I could.

Community cats concerned about today's weather forecast for snow and then sleet and then rain and temperatures in the 30s. They're stocking up on the yummy food that The Lady just fed them while the orange one keeps a lookout.

A Man-made Thing

Walking in woods that were once a farm, now a park, as leaves fall from trees and brush this man-made element emerges from the understory. I kinda think it has something to do with oil drilling.

Brought in the geraniums. They're downloading a whole summer's worth of messages. Some Mimi's Homegrown Catnip seeded itself in there too.

Bella decided to make her #caturday breakfast more exciting and authentic this morning. She finished most of it, then ran and found her favorite fleece mousie and chased it and tossed it in the air all around the kitchen until it landed in her food bowl, and then she finished her breakfast.

Those big white mittens have to be kept sparkling clean, along with all those loooonnnggg white whiskers! Mariposa's bath is quite a production as she works her way through all of it, and her fluffy tresses too.

Thoughts of autumn bring mild, sunny days and trees covered with brilliant leaves of all colors, but that's really an October thing.

Look at the size of that leaf! I think that little maple leaf wants to be like that big tulip tree leaf. Little leaves have big dreams.
