I thought strategic funds are restricted? Also sympathetic to the concern that 1-time funding is equivalent to sunsetting— hard to bring these back if not budgeted. How do you protect against that?

Makes sense to me that the ED of the org would write asking people to support them in front of this attack- not weird. This general fund supports and employs a bunch of equity programs in Portland, my son works at one. Seems naive to say they won’t take a hit. Don’t scapegoat good programs!

If Prosper needs better oversight, do that. And/or if the Strategic investment fund needs new guidelines, do THAT. This proposal seems a very blunt tool to address mismanagement— don’t make hardworking equity programs a casualty (as usual) of some sort of disciplinary measure against Prosper! Thanks

I generally trust your judgment Mitch, but I’m very concerned about this hack to Prosper’s general fund. A lot of important equity projects are funded through that fund. Seems naive to think this won’t negatively affect them!
