I forgot, I think, that it’s a good thing to post something here when GOOD things happen. It’s been a while, apologies.

So… YAY CANADA! It’s not perfect, but I’ll take it. Now we start the hard work of detaching ourselves from that jerk to the south of us.

I watched “Inherit the Wind” today while spending a sick day on the couch. It made this sore throat and lethargy worthwhile.

I am so tired of feeling: Outraged. Gobsmacked. Agog. Frightened. Anxious. Helpless.

Spent some time in the car today and listened to a great CBC interview of one of the authors of this article. “Rewilding” the internet is a good start but I feel as if I need to rewild a lot of things. 2025 is gonna take a lot of thinking.

Dave Zirin @edgeofsports.bsky.social on how Canadian sociologist Nathan Kalman-Lamb @nkalamb.bsky.social was denied entry to USA. NKL was to talk on NCAA football. Prob stopped cuz of views on Israel/US/Palestine (though views on football probably did not help). www.thenation.com/article/soci...
Why Did the US Block a Canadian Professor From His Own Book Event?
Nathan Kalman-Lamb was barred entry into the US. This is a harbinger of the dark political future that Trump is ushering in.
