Reduction after TEMPO/International quickbuilds, as of 5/2025. Non-transit traffic in bus lane reduced by 83%, to 35 vehicles/day, from 1500. Fastest speeds reduced from 40 to 28MPH. Big reduction in fatalities on Intl, & thus, city wide. First 0 ped fatalities on Intl since BRT

The best traffic calming measure was the temporary barrier at Dwight and California. Once they spent months converting it to a permanent feature cars went right back to 30 mph. I’m sure a traffic study said that car speeds were slowed too much by the temp installation.

So likely many commuters will pay their full BART fare in one direction, and then the muni fare in the other? If riders take transit on both ends of their commute, will BART miss out on those riders fares? How will this impact our systems’ deficits we already have to pass a new measure to cover?
