Proud geek dad moment this week. Conversation with my 10 yo daughter about Percy Jackson spiralled into us buying a big pile of Magic cards and having a very lovely day being big ol' nerds. Big thanks to the lovely Bus Stop Toy Shop in Largs for spending time with us and enabling my nonsense :) #MTG

Fun with simple materials today. A few sheets of paper, a scrap of leather and some thread turned into a little sketch journal. Lots of things learned but not bad for a first effort :)

Bank holiday leather working with my 9yo. Dice pouch for her dice goblin tendencies. Pattern made old school out of packing cardboard by tracing round plates. Saddle stitching made P slightly feral :)

A wonderful week of contrasts with team @rare.co.uk. Dressed up to the nines for @baftagames.bsky.social awards on Tuesday night. Covered in mud and sweat at the Wolf Run on Saturday. A great team and great fun had in both settings :)

Merry Christmas one and all! For those of you who followed my crafting adventure earlier in the month, today was gifting day. Complete with ownership certificate. Pretty sure that is job done - and Rar'jack is definitely a member of the family now :)

End of day update - legs and eyes. Just needs a little detail in the face and a clasp and she will be ready to wear. Names under consideration - I'm thinking Narzack Destroyer of worlds. Likes: Hugs, scruffles, Subjugation of the races of man. Dislikes: Vegetables, Homework, Peace in our time.

My wife walked down the aisle to Rainbow connection. My best man then played "Can't take my eyes off you" in a Manic Street Preachers style during the ceremony and we walked back together to the Muppets theme tune. This was made much more fun by giving the whole congregation Kazoos :)

If you've ever wondered "How the dragon got her wings" it's hand sewing. Hours and hours of hand sewing. One day I will be good at whip stitch :)

Break from the progress updates to remind everyone about the value of good tools. I bought these scissors for my wife's birthday several years ago and they have made some fairly tricky fabric cutting a genuine joy. Also remember that fabric scissors are NOT paper scissors... #sewing
