How jewelry of gold and silver wouldn't petrify so the risk of thieves unknowingly or knowingly breaking tails, arms etc to get the rings and collars. Most of is hidden beneath the hills of their bodies and cloaks, still vulnerable to those that knew where to look. well, unless the badgers get em'

once more back on the trolls; thinking about how giant badgers made good guard/herding dogs. Protecting the trolls whilst petrified and looking after the herds too. How during the cold/dark periods the badgers would rest and the trolls making sure their pets get the best mini-hibernation possible.
