Agreed. It’s why we read them. Oryx & Crake is a really good one too if you haven’t read it. My students like it despite how disturbing it is.

Until the overturned Roe v. Wade, it wasn’t bad. At this point, the students still want to read it.

I stopped teaching 1984 as it was too disturbing to all of us. Switched to Handmaid’s Tale. Oh the irony.

Great metaphor. The regular people who bought tickets are left out in the cold while the VIPs are invited inside.
