This is the main reason why, in some cases, I still choose the PS4 version of a game over its PS5 version.

I feel exactly the same way about this generation. Even with the adoption of 4K, there must be some room to offer something like a 1080p 60fps mode with decent image quality. I have the same doubts about the performance mode in FF VII Rebirth.

The performance would be the same. My question is whether the frame-rate mode in a 1080p TV can make the poor image quality less annoying.
