Least important mammal in his house (just ask the cats).

"If vision worked like *that*, we'd all be dead."

Quick intro: I'm a faculty member at UofT in Psychology, sitting somewhere at the intersection of vision science, cognitive psychology and human factors, with strong interests in driver behaviour and digital (screen) readability.

I'm the Least Important Mammal in my house and the cats know it.
Sometimes, anticlimactic is good.

Ok, barely more than two weeks since I made these.

This is your regular reminder that they're excellent, easy, and delicious.
I'm reminded that the Smitten Kitchen molasses spice cookies have an amazing ease to awesome ratio.

Did another printing and framing binge today.

Merely bought another 14 frames. And framed a couple of other pieces.

I've framed something like 50 pieces in the last month and a bit.
Is it *bad* when you go back to the store a week later and it turns out that you bought them out of the frames you wanted more of?

Asking for a friend...
It's fun when you can buy 60 cm x 90 cm frames for $20...

...since our home printer (a venerable and still excellent Designjet 130) prints 24" (61 cm) wide

Revised down to 2-5cm
I mean, I like snow… but up to 10 cm Sunday is a bit much.

I have just described a parking garage as having been built by assholes from the condo asshole dimension.

I also described this same garage as “worse than a Trader Joe’s parking lot” which is saying something.

This is just fun…
In Icelandic we have 'Ókind' for monster. But the translation is un-sheep. So everything not a sheep is dangerous.

Teams: just why?
Teams: are you on the call with a potato for your camera? Even if you aren't, we'll make that happen!
Time to find out how desperately the irredeemable filth that is Teams wants an update on my home Mac.

Pretty sure I’ve got friends on here who would agree with Samuel’s take…
I'm obsessed with obscure internet stuff so when learning about trade publishing, I was fascinated by Publishers Marketplace, the craigslisty, barebones website about who's doing what in publishing

it has a lowkey badass social media vibe among authors, editors, and agents, as this piece describes

Hmmm, 20 years of training on informed consent (in the context of 45 CFR 46, then TCPS2) reminds me that the world is full of people who haven't had that training, and disseminating it more broadly would be a very good idea.
