Hildale Mayor Donia Jessop looks to have won another term. Her original election was historic as the first ex-FLDS and woman mayor and she and a more secular council have tried hard to shed the community's old image. Voters appear to support that. #utpol #Utah

It's the tax everyone LIKES to pay! Voters across Utah have — from what I've seen so far — approved extensions of their communities' recreation, arts and parks (RAP) tax.

I'm also watching Prop. 13 in Grand County, a 0.5% sales tax hike to cover EMS in tourism/outdoor heavy Moab. #utpol #Utah

Midvale and Salt Lake City held ranked choice elections (the last as the legislature is not extending the pilot project in Utah) and for most of the races? It was a first round, winner take all. Except SLC Council District 3 and you see where the votes went... #utpol #Utah

For the most part, incumbent mayors did well in re-election bids. I noted this in West Valley City, Herriman, Draper, Sandy, South Salt Lake.
