In this animation of atmospheric CO2 concentration, you can see the individual smokestacks pouring pollution into the air. Gray is high concentration; orange is very high concentration.

It's also the region of the U.S. with the most concentrated greenhouse gas emissions. Look at all that CO2 going up in the air! You can pick out individual power plants that need to be closed.

Watch CO2 move through the atmosphere over three months. Orange is the highest concentration, then gray as CO2 disperses. Forests pulse daily, producing then absorbing CO2. Individual power stations are visible as points where the pollution streams out of. Best full-screen.
