Now: The Illinois Senate is sending a bill to the governor’s desk that ends the subminimum for workers with disabilities. This bill has been discussed for years and recently stalled in the spring. It received bipartisan votes in the House and Senate, tho concerns remain

The state is finally out with a request to hire a construction manager to rebuild Stateville prison after it was essentially closed in September. The company will be expected to build 2 new facilities- in line with the state’s plan to close the Logan women’s prison & move it to Stateville
