Honestly I see it as a compromise between an industry wanting to go completely digital and a consumer base that's still used to the old ways.
This could have been the first step towards making digital games re-sellable! Instead, it's just proof of the last gasp of physical gaming in the mainstream.

Really excited for this one to release. My feelings about attract mode are pretty clear 😆
Even Urban Champion has an attract mode. Is your game better than Urban Champion? Maybe. But your odds just got a lot lower if your game doesn't have one.

It's very much an introvert thing. Having to interact with people for long periods absolutely depletes my energy and I need non-social downtime to feel normal again

I agree with this so much! Too many fandoms have become a place where of you don't know every trivial little thing you must be shamed. That's no way to be. People need to be able to enjoy things at their own pace and on their own terms.

When I was in a car wreck last year, they asked if I wanted to go to the er and I told them no because I was worried I wouldnt be able to afford it and pay for a car rental while the insurance claim got sorted. I went to urgent care the next day instead.

The ER will shake you down like nobody's business. Last time I had to go, it was a $300 copay, followed by another surprise $1,000 for the scans, pain meds, etc.
Turns out it was a kidney stone. if I hadn't been doubled over in pain at 2am I would have waited and paid maybe $100.

But it's only the "expensive" shopkeeps you can haggle with, and if you don't have an arbitrart score value, prices go up instead.
It's definitely a player-hostile game, especially in the first world. It does get easier when you get to the second world. But then the guys who steal powerups shop up!

Parents 100% should read what their kids are reading. Not to censor, but so that they can have conversations with them about the content and how it applies to real world situations.

I don't think it's entirely a discovery problem, but also a "there's just too much of it" problem. Looking at SteamDB shows over 16000 games released on there this year so far. Those aren't great odds for anyone who didn't release a Hollow Knight or a Deltarune.
