I finally started watching Heated Rivalry, and beyond everything everyone’s already said about it, as a graduate of Canadian commercial media, I’m so glad Crave finally made an original series that people besides Bell Media executives actually want to watch.

It is violently on-brand for the CTA to re-route the red line to the elevated tracks on the coldest night of the entire year, denying me the chance to walk straight from the subway into the office

The White House just launched a "Media Bias" tracker to supposedly monitor fake news. It's really a hit list of reporters & outlets covering issues in ways Trump & the admin dislike. Flagrant attack on independent thought, freedom of the press & free speech. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

The IIHF has confirmed to me that neck guards will be mandatory for hockey players at the upcoming Winter Olympics.

IIHF announced in 2023 that they'd be mandatory, but didn't confirm when it would be for senior players until now.

IIHF says neck guards will be mandatory at 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina
In February 2024, 78.45 percent of NHL players who participated in an Athletic players poll opposed the idea of a neck-guard mandate.

I rushed to the airport after hearing about the shutdown leading to crazy lines at some airports, but I’m here to say your mileage will definitely vary because at least if you’re privileged enough to have Premier Access, Pre-Check and Clear Plus, TSA continues to take sixteen seconds at O’Hare

Is it time for me to reiterate my long-held theory that the public wouldn’t put up with gerrymandering if we gave our congressional districts names like in the Westminster system?

Everybody would know a seat named “Andersonville—Evanston—Elk-Grove—Algonquin” is fishy, whereas “IL-09” is meaningless

Just before gavelling itself out for the year, the IL House passed SB-2111, the transit funding bill that will avert dramatic service cuts to CTA, Metra, and Pace.

It is now under consideration by the Senate, which itself just passed the MAiD bill, SB-1950, by a wafer-thin margin.
