I’m pretty amazed that the Anglican Catholics still exist. One would have thought that anyone who got mad in 1978 would have died by now, and people getting mad now would join ACNA. But I guess it will live on as long as grifters are gonna grift.

What’s the play?

I’m pretty agnostic at this point, and there’s a lot about church in general that I don’t like. But I’m blessed to get to sing at an Episcopal church where people are curious, compassionate, accepting, and understanding. My family is pretty unconventional, and no one loves us for it like TEC.

I tried making that argument one year, and was thoughtfully told that I would be welcome to put Christmas away on my own if it meant so much to me.

For me, it’s honestly the “wait- is this the one that was the HOF bowl when I was a kid or is that the Tax Slayer bowl” bowl.

For new places, I will look at a navigation map before I leave. But my brain can’t handle live instructions- too distracting.

This might not be an issue for an academic, but no CLE also gives you a lot more flexibility on written materials.

(I have seen orgs offer a program at minimal cost for folks not claiming the credit, which might be an option here.)

Free but no CLE would probably be more likely to get me in the door. For context, I am cheap and will take a tour of anything, so free+learn something new is my sweet spot.
