Yeah it was a sudden wire snapping this morning. Normally there should be a flashing blue light and announcement

I mean the calculus has dramatically changed post-data center; TMI-1 is even getting restarted

Static route data in reports still exist but the problem is each route and mode has slightly different data collection methods and assumptions, which is different from systemwide sources. We need time to do full verification to ensure published data is accurate

So we're obviously still compiling performance data every day but Tableau dashboard permissions are quite finnicky. I'll reach out to the right people

Definitely but that should be on a dedicated JC-Hoboken NS tunnel taking over HBLR branches

Really bolsters the counterfactual that in a lower-capital cost country we would have already moved to make Hoboken a through-station and run just two high-frequency routes

American urban studies will continue to stumble as long as it puts the focus on "gentrification" as a singular act rather than observing entire trajectories *with* prior histories

Republicans did not have a policy on anything besides reduce spending and let people suffer is my point. Dems failed to produce something in that vacuum that is more visionary than patching deficits and would bring those who care about small-town transit on board
November 14, 2025 at 4:04 PM
GOP care less about PHL commuters driving more and more that it remains a pain point for Dems. But Dems also failed to drive a sophisticated transit policy platform that could deliver funding alongside organizational reforms and regional self-taxation, as was done successfully in IL

Oh I have no opinion, I just had to record timepoints for every stop/start/event when doing bus ridealongs
November 14, 2025 at 3:45 PM
Interesting you only measure dwell times and not stop-to-stop runtimes

The transit concessions were made back in September at the direction of Shapiro. Those who were focused on PA politics since the beginning of his term were not that surprised transit was thrown under the bus in pursuit of "bipartisanship"

Why there was no deal for SEPTA in Harrisburg after all
In an unremarkable end to months of debate over mass transit funding and a hardening Senate GOP position, Gov. Josh Shapiro told SEPTA there wouldn’t be a deal this year and to request capital funds.

Only five overlays? Try Philly's 14 overlays

Here is a 3D map of Center City Philadelphia--but no, it's not height! This is the number of unique zoning overlays applied to each lot, totaling up to 14 separate overlays on some lots!

Between this and Jobbers Canyon, Omaha was incredibly determined to downsize itself
