I agree. With some manufacturers, like Rivian, it’s a cost now to get the cellular connection to support the Apple Music integration. It will be interesting to see if this all turns out to a BMW heated seats subscription mess for manufacturers.

One thing I don’t see talked about much when auto makers don’t want to support Android Auto or CarPlay is that it is about subscription revenue. They charge or want to charge extra costs for you to get that cellular connection in your car to do the stuff you can do on your phone already

I stopped watching NESN entirely a few years ago due to cost. The current model doesn’t seem to be hurting them because it just keeps getting more expensive to watch the Sox

The biggest challenge for me and the NBA is that I have no options to watch my local team (Celtics) without a pricey cable subscription. So I don’t watch. I can watch football for free every week though. A $10 month subscription and I’m in for the NBA but the current service is blacked out for me
