lil' Henry and Penny update!

176 of 750 lines of dialog were recorded with a messed up audio setup. I tried my best to clean the audio with Audacity and Reaper, but there's only so much you can do with bad source material. Time to get the kids back to the recording studio.

Working on the cover art for Lil' Henry and Penny's Big Adventure Pack!

This is my first serious go at digital painting in
Clip Studio... 11 hours in.

Do paintings like this always take this long? 😅

Trying out a new notebook for ideas and design. It fulfills my following criteria:

- small for portability
- plain pages for drawing. No rules or grid
- spiral bound for folding back and tearing out
- cheap
- customizable with stickers

Continuing my very scientific investigation, I took screenshots of MI1, Drifter demo, and my two resolutions. This is to compare relative character sizes. The character at 320x180 is definitely much larger on the screen. This further reinforces my hypothesis that 352x198 is the ideal 16:9 size.

Right! But I’m really just trying to go for a 16:9 aspect ratio. 320x240 is 4:3.

I put together this handy chart of some non-standard 16:9 resolutions, from 320x180 upwards (along with the vertical scale factors). To me, 352x198 is the sweet spot.

But again, I could be totally crazy.

Switching the resolution for my indie point and click from the "standard" 320x180 to the completely out-of-pocket 352x198. It's still 16:9, but it's definitely a non-standard resolution. But IMO this gets me the closest to the classic Lucasarts resolution while still being 16:9.

Am I crazy?
