I think to me the most obtuse part of awarding her the award is her own checkered past (& present), thus misleadingly presenting her as a earnest fighter for the popular will of the people coupled w/focusing on VZ just as Trump was saber rattling and murdering people on boats.

No worries, I was just curious. I’m not an expert myself, but I think the blurring of the Chavez & Maduro years is wrong on their part.

Part of story is mismanagement of the oil sector (boom/bust periods), desire of maintaining power in the Maduro years, & escalation of sanctions under Trump.

It sounds like by your account they just ignore inconvenient realities in favor of the oppositions account. Do they mention the Bush-backed 2002 coup attempt that failed partially due to the popular support of Chavez?

Is there a link for this?

Pre-Chavez, despite “wealth” as a nation, there was vast wealth inequality & illiteracy. When Chavez won, those inequities shrank rapidly. Mismanagement eroded much of those gains. Also, the Carter Center called their elections the best in the world under Chavez.

Anyway, here's the full story on how Bari Weiss and Donald Trump enjoyed a warm embrace and kissed each other on the cheek during his 60 Minutes interview -- which featured him praising her as a "great" leader.

Shouldn’t the editorial standard here to voice skepticism given the death of children here be to put ceasefire in quotes, write ‘supposed‘ ceasefire, or at the very least say ‘despite.’

You make it sound like these kids are dying due to something unforeseen & not a continuation of Israeli policy.

The NYT will follow up this article up with another saying how “the groups“ are trying to force upon Democrats to abolish ICE, an unwise decision.

Fascinating when groups or identity can be wielded positively or negatively on such a whim.

Political sense how? The bottom has not fallen out yet with opposition to ICE. Getting rid of them will only become more popular over the next 3 years.

The people behind this org worked for Fetterman during the worst of his spirals on immigration and Gaza.

Stevens is also objectively the worst candidate of the three. Completely off putting.
