Alternatively we can parent the bloke to an empty actor object that has it's origin at the turret center and then ask the empty actor to face the target. This kind of thing. Hope it helps, and good luck!

looks like the turret is rotating around the origin point of the bloke, and not the turret centroid. If we rule out setting the rotation matrix ourselves, then I would look for a rotate_around function, that allows the bloke and turret to orbit a given position or object (the turret center).

The reason to be wary of specifically political borders on a real world map of the earth is that there are a number of powerful authoritarian governments that have, lets call them: "strong opinions" about where those borders ought to be. And that deviations from their view is rather censor worthy.

player in a very striking way. This is not a change I would lightly make unless it tightly aligns with the target player experience. Will the vibe of the game be felt the most strongly with a firmly directed camera or by giving the camera to the player and the freedom/control/power that conveys. fin

Super interesting! This will impact a whole bunch o stuff, but let's just look at how this touches the player's sense of control. If the player cannot so much as turn their camera, they don't get to choose what they see and what they don't it's all authored for them. Every room will be your 1/?
