Some really interesting changes on the r/fantasy best novels list this year, including a Sanderson bloodbath. I've read something from 18 of the top 20 series. If my reading plan for this tear goes well, I'll have tried 23 of the top 25 by the end of the year. www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/co...

Found a new instant classic novel today. Glorious Exploits. One of the best I've ever read. I read the entire thing in a single day.

Finished 100 Years of Solitude tonight. A great book, if not quite rising to the level of a new favorite. Glad I finally made room for it in the ol' TBR.

Been sick lately, so watching a bunch of movies. I'm doing a 70s watch project right now, so that's been the focus.
Some reviews.
Deep End. A mixed experience. I was sort of detached watching it live, but it's resurfaced several times since I left it. A strong ending, if a bit unearned. B-.

Finished Last Argument of Kings tonight. A great ending to a very solid trilogy. Some of the best characters in fantasy. Glotka in particular is a tour de force.

And finished with Wind and Truth. Overall, this book was a miss for me, but I did really like the last 200 or so pages. Didn't salvage the other 1000+ pages that were a real slog, but it made me hopeful that the rest of the series will be worthwhile to continue.

Wind and Truth update. Finished day nine. Almost done. Honestly pretty disappointed with the book overall. Day nine was an improvement though. I'm hoping for a rousing finish. Desperately needed another line edit though. The prose is much worse than other books in the series. Which is a low bar.
