I don't spend much time over here on Bluesky as of yet, but I just had to come back here to comment on that same prominent sociologist and New York Times columnist who backhandedly dissed GMU even as they pretended to defend us . . . I hope they are reflecting on their actions and hubris.

What really strikes me is that we met last year and Limerick and I spoke with her about GMU. We talked at some length. I'm not going to say anything more about this but Jesus what a waste of time and energy.

Working people need our leaders in power to work for them and put their interests first. A wasteful birthday military parade does nothing to help working families pay their bills, lower their costs, or keep their health care.

The birthday parade money could pay for 4 million Meals on Wheels meals, enough to cover 10,000 hungry and isolated seniors for an entire year.

$45 million could pay for GI Bill benefits for 3,000 veterans, showing our nation’s thanks to our brave soldiers with the college or vocational training we promised after their service.

$45 million could provide more than 10 million school lunches, enough to feed 56,000 hungry kids – whose only warm meal each day could be at school – for an entire year.

To be clear - I don't know whether the BLS # are correct. My colleagues don't know (I've asked around). And given what has just been done to the federal government, neither do you.

Step 3: Issue government reports of a steep decline in inflation and of steady employment.
Step 4: Count on cowed media organizations to uncritically report Step 3.
