Democracy is a movement.
I don't spend much time over here on Bluesky as of yet, but I just had to come back here to comment on that same prominent sociologist and New York Times columnist who backhandedly dissed GMU even as they pretended to defend us . . . I hope they are reflecting on their actions and hubris.

The birthday parade money could pay for 4 million Meals on Wheels meals, enough to cover 10,000 hungry and isolated seniors for an entire year.

$45 million could provide more than 10 million school lunches, enough to feed 56,000 hungry kids – whose only warm meal each day could be at school – for an entire year.

To be clear - I don't know whether the BLS # are correct. My colleagues don't know (I've asked around). And given what has just been done to the federal government, neither do you.

Step 3: Issue government reports of a steep decline in inflation and of steady employment.

"The quest for truth—the mission of science requires that scientists freely explore new questions and report their findings honestly, independent of special interests. The administration is engaging in censorship, destroying this independence."

“An organization of intellectual workers can have the greatest significance for society as a whole by influencing public opinion through publicity & education. Indeed, it is the proper task to defend academic freedom, without which a healthy development of democracy is impossible.”
