And you might be right. I might’ve been unqualified. But I’m qualified now. And you have every right to think I’m bad at my job. You’re not alone. And I have every right to believe you’re a lazy arm-chair critic with a lack of concern for detail and a penchant for hacky writing.

My grandfather, a screenwriter, died 50 years before I was hired. Joe, my great uncle, died a decade before.
I’ve benefitted in life from being a Mankiewicz. No doubt. I’m proud of my family. But the notion that TCM hired me because of my long-dead screenwriting relatives is silly.
