Today I received the newest collection of poems by William Martin - Marratide

In his centenary year, I am very excited to have two settings of his poems premiering

I had a lot of fun with composition students today looking at Hanns Eisler's "Romische Kantate"

Lots of interesting discussion, and nice to get into the nitty-gritty of a really fascinating piece!

A truly wonderful arrival in the post today, Alan Bush's opera 'Men of Blackmoor', a rare score of a rare opera about the pits of the North-East and the miner's struggles for justice
