A portal encounter near Benllech, Ynys Môn. Sent the dogs through first to see what happened. We hope to see them again in 2035.

#TombTuesday Coed Y Glyn Neolithic burial chamber, Tyn-y-Gongl, Ynys Môn. The construction is unusual, the capstone appears to have been levered from the bedrock and propped up by low stones at its outer edge. The capstone has broken into three pieces and rests above a partially collapsed chamber.

Mein Hirion standing stones, Llanfechell, Ynys Môn. The three stones leaning in towards each other create a wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful setting #StandingStoneSunday

For #TombTuesday, here's another from my recent visit to Ireland. Four Knocks passage tomb, fabulous place with a great atmosphere. Picked up the key from a nearby house and we had the place to ourselves.

I spent the Easter weekend over in Ireland visiting a number of Neolithic sites, so for today's #TombTuesday here's the hugely impressive Brownshill Portal Tomb with its massive capstone.
I really liked this place, it seemed to have a gravity all of its own within the landscape.

My Greco SS500. Not a Gibson, but as good as any of my Gibsons with a super slim neck. P90s are awesome!

A walk with the boys up to Bwrdd Arthur (Arthur's Table), an old (pre Roman) stone-walled hill fort around the summit of a prominent isolated limestone plateau on Anglesey. Fabulous views!

For #StandingStoneSunday I've a bit of a mystery. It's believed within my family that some of the old gatestones on our farm on Anglesey are former megaliths that have been moved from their original sites within the farm for this purpose.

Here's some of the possible candidates. I wonder...

Today's #TombTuesday is a memory from a 2015 visit to the Tomb of the Eagles on South Ronaldsay in the Orkney Islands.

The tomb is currently closed to visitors; there's an active Crowdfunder campaign to buy and reopen the site, please donate if you can

It's #HillfortsWednesday! This is the summit and ramparts of Penycloddiau, the largest hillfort on the Clwydian Range and one of the largest in Wales, enclosing an area of 21 hectares.
