I'm a Bible teacher who is pretty interested these days in the moral dimension of technology. In my feed I'll talk a lot about education, technology and scripture, and a little about other things.
I like that way of framing it. I've been trying to share that AI detectors don't work and am struggling to make the connection that they will always and forever be "guessing" at pattern recognition. I like the "indifferent to the truth" line. That's a good way to put it.

I got asked to give my phone number on web, but I don't remember it saying anything about being for finding friends. I clicked out pretty quick so I dunno. Might have come later.

Hoo boy I have a hot take. Gaston is a proper turd BUT...from the townspeople's perspective the beast is some nonhuman violent creature of immense power abducting and imprisoning innocent townspeople in inhumane conditions in his basement.

Teasing Belle for reading is better than kidnapping her.

Webbon had a 'MAGA is Dead' episode recently, and I've gotten the sense that the theonomy guys are ready to leave Trump behind following the Tucker-Fuentes thing. Fuentes didn't get the pushback he used to get, and a lot of them are very out on Jews/Israel.

I've been teaching for 15 years. Despite the years of experience and getting a Master's degree I make less adjusted for inflation than I did on my first day. There was a period where my status changes meant real improvement in financial stability, but in the past 5 years its reversed entirely.

Right and we repeat out of date info or reject newer more accurate info too sometimes.

I'm just suggesting that models utilizing search doesn't fix this particular problem (I suspect it does reduce it) because its still pulling from current AND old info online and the prediction is still muddled.

Most LLMs can search, but search is *also* going to turn up old information alongside current info.

Its pulling from everything it can whether training, web, and/or information you've provided.

It will sometimes generate current info and sometimes old info.

Probably a surprise to the native population and the all the people enslaved from across the sea too.

Thanks. I teach church history so I unfortunately see plenty of disheartening examples of Christianity in proximity to power.

Its more difficult than I would have guessed a decade ago to convince people in my circles of how bad this is, but I'm hoping the increased explicitness of late will help.

Would you be willing to provide a reference for this? I'd be curious to read through it and be able to reference direct passages.

I'm particularly fond of the very arrow bedroom with a sink at one end that is right next to the bathroom with three sinks and no toilet that it shares with another bedroom nearby with closet space on every wall.

I'm in the AI is real and happening (and will keep happening) but I would say some downsides are not an "if" but are just inherently part of the tech. We can address those by minimizing impact, but not by "fixing" them. One way some will address them is opting out as much as possible.

I'm the opposite. I tell everyone in each post if I am *not* muting them. It lets them know I valued the interaction, but also that I'm monitoring their every word and prepared to go no contact if my sensibilities are offended.

I'm not muting you Matthew.

For now.

I've decided there is one less obstacle than there was yesterday. More still to overcome.

This won't undue any of it but I am very sorry your friends and you experienced that. I truly am.
