If he didn't try to run, then it's absolutely inappropriate to use a K9 that way, and the handler should be disciplined. But I object to the article stating "he has never been charged with a crime" when he absolutely has been charges with serious felonies worthy of deportation.

Terrible framing, and inappropriate use of a dog if it went down like his lawyer says, but you shouldn't leave out that this guy is currently on trial for heroin trafficking in Portland.

They are not fake. Guys, you really need to be be more careful who we prop up as innocent victims. This guy is currently on trial for delivery of heroin.

All I am saying is that the article should have mentioned he was currently being tried for delivery of heroin, and maybe why his attorney made a motion this Friday to suppress evidence. Instead, she only mentions an "investigation of a misdemeanor years ago in Oregon", which is total BS.

Believe me, if it was a south african white guy here undocumented and accused of delivering heroin, we'd all be seething... and I would be just as concerned about getting the facts straight. This lawyer never said he was innocent. It's hard to believer the case is still ongoing after 6+ years.

Sorry, *heroin*, and there was a motion to suppress evidence on Friday, December 5, 2025... the motion was not to dismiss. It sounds like we may never know if he was guilty or not.

You're certain those charges were dismissed? I can't imagine being caught with a loaded firearm that I wasn't supposed to have, let alone heroin. And a theft charge on top of that? If he was innocent of all three charges, it seems worthy of mention.

My question was more for the governor's staffer who posted this. I can't trust this article because it didn't say what he did for a living, and given his prior charges, we're let to assume he was a career criminal. If we was doing honest work, we should be talking about how to get them documented.

Is this true? I'm always curious what these people do for a living. It's good to feel compassion for someone who came here for a better life, but we're going to lose all the voters who have to compete for work against laborers who pay no taxes or insurance and answer to fair business requirements.

There's screenshots that pop up everywhere he's mentioned on X, showing a mugshot from a Portland arrest, and alleging charges for theft, possession of loaded firearm and heroin. That seems like more than a misdemeanor. Are they fake?

It must suck to be detained, even worse to sleep on the floor and not have a private toilet, and significantly worse to be deported. But don't trivialize the Holocaust.

Rent here has always been 2-3 times higher than rent in the small town where I came from. Who wants to live in Ohio, though.

It's not like this everywhere. We're in a very desirable region. Not quite to the level of NYC or San Francisco, but it's only going to get more expensive. Most people are going to need a roommate for the foreseeable. And out drug problem is real. And it is most certainly a gateway to homelessness.
