the fact that we got these high-quality remakes of FDC and literally nobody talks about them will never stop pissing me off

Highly underrated soundtrack. Frostlands and Gate of Finis are some of my favourite songs in recent years. Yasunori Nishiki is an amazing composer.

Was it too hard/scary? I left mine with the mark since launch because I was so afraid of melting poor Kirby's arm. 😅

It basically went from “overrated piece of shit with tight gameplay” to “flawed masterpiece”.

This whole experience showed me, once again, how your mental state influences how you engage with this medium. If you are not clicking with a game, drop it, but make sure to eventually give it another go.

I won't delete my original posts because I still stand by most of my critique, but the overall sentiment towards the game drastically changes once you realize that the game is going to be demanding skill-wise, but also very rewarding.

Once you are willing to die and give it your all, it's great.

It's funny how most people get incredibly aggressive when AI is used for art-related stuff, but they don't seem to care when it's used for management, coding, documenting,…

Same theft, same machine, same problem, just different areas.

"placeholder text" "concept art" either the temporary thing you put in matters to the process, in which case you need to get a human to work on it, or it doesn't, in which case you can just as easily put a bright pink rectangle that says PLACEHOLDER in and save everyone time and effort

I'll admit they could have gone the Team Cherry route, making the DLC (Silksong) free for backers and paid for the rest, but I don't think the lack of rereleases or games for the sake of profit is at fault here. A bad reputation can be more detrimental for indie companies than the absence of money.
