Honestly those are rookie numbers 😂

Check out Cavalry. I’ve not used it but people seem to feel it’s an Ae alternative.

Interesting.

Trust is earned. Over a long period of time - piece by piece. People like Elkann think you can buy it.

I think you’re right. A friend points out that Sky put their extended highlights on YouTube as well. So you can always watch those I guess.
November 9, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Yeah I confess I don’t watch them often as I’m lucky enough to have a live/recorded option. But why are they afraid to edit them? Is it deliberate not to annoy broadcasters? Is it for absolute speed? Either way it doesn’t serve the viewers.

I feel like if that was actual lap one rather than a restart the decision would have been different and it would have correctly been seen as a racing incident. It has to be a factor that so many decisions were needed. We rely on too few people to make these decisions.

I mean there’s a better way to do these than just random moment / wipe /random moment. You can tell a story. Put a script under it even? But I can tell you, you can do it with commentary, a few graphics.

The UK rights, including highlights, are held by Sky until end 2029. Sky lease those highlights to C4 to give a free-to-air option. Apple are locked out of any UK deal until then.
November 7, 2025 at 11:23 AM
PS - it’s entirely possible Sky preempts the ITV deal and sells the rights to ITV anyway for 2027. And bear in mind that there are only a tiny number of production companies capable of doing the highlights so it might well still be Whisper coverage - or Sky do it in house and save a lot of money.
November 7, 2025 at 11:03 AM
Finally - it’s still not a given that Sky would seek to put it on ITV. But if I had to put money on it, and the C4 deal isn’t worth the lost ad revenue, I’d say it’s more likely it goes to ITV. But not until 2027 at the earliest, and maybe a year or two later.
November 7, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Secondly the ITV deal will likely have to go through regulators - it would give Sky about 70% of the tv ad market in the uk which is bound to attract scrutiny. At any rate this may not be quick and is likely to drag on past a renewal date.

That’s not excessive for drama, and it’s not bad at all for sci-fi.

Someone once said “there are no rules in formula one, so make sure you don’t break them”. I’m not sure that’s the case any more. Instead we have too many!

I mean they are all cheating and spying on each other. It’s the nature of the sport. But the cost cap ain’t it.
October 28, 2025 at 12:09 PM
Of course when it’s revealed there were no breaches, it’s a cover up. And so the cycle continues.
October 28, 2025 at 12:01 PM
It’s becoming an annual ritual for stories to spread about cost cap breaches in winked conversations to journalists from people in other teams. Let’s hope the practice dies out. It probably won’t.

Yep. See my thread…
