Could you live-post the q&a if it's going to be spicy? Was bummed that I missed out on tickets.

In my experience, technologists are inherently centrist, or closer to center than the average perpetually online person (the social media super consumers). The thing that brought me (not a deep knowledge tech person, just a centrist and generalist) was the promise of decentralized interoperability.

Giving both of your referenced images to Gemini to write gave 100% accurate responses. However, I think your point is a great one. AI is not the tool for every job, not close to most jobs at this point. Where it helps though is to advise on tooling, or when given tools to use(Claude with py, etc.).

Disheartened by the comments this far. This individual had positive intentions and made meaningful progress toward a goal everyone should be in support - more effective government. They articulate the policies that influenced and shaped what they were asked to do. There was no malice expressed.

Probably the strongest critique of these "radical centrist" ideas is that they are too often carried in intellectual English. The exact language that most of America turns away from. I count myself as a fan of Ezra Klein but I think the message calls for speaking closer to Joe Rogan English.

Just saved the images and dropped into Gemini. Might need to start learning Russian? Hope not.

Updating with more context. It says Trump Russian Asset.

"Based on the three images you provided, the signs say:
* "российский" (Russian)
* "актив!" (Active! / Asset!)
* "Трамп" (Trump)"

Gemini says "The word on the sign, "российский", translates to "Russian" in English.
It's the masculine singular adjective form of the word meaning "Russia".

So probably a troll job?

Feeling seen. Literally building a personal relationship/contact manager right now... Is this the new midlife crisis? Instead of buying a sports car just getting on Cursor and vibe coding so I can share contacts with my wife and have a microsaas? Tokens are cheaper than gas, for now.

This makes a lot of sense if you already have a degree of cohesion, but I'm afraid our society is too fractured for it to go anywhere (unless we do slip into full authoritative state and its forced on us). I do think the hard/soft power agencies should increase marketing for their youth programs.

Really solid. I wonder what your thought is on expansion of DoD budget with the Pentagon's history of failing audits and seemingly has one of the least effective procurement apparatus in wog. You mention transparency efforts, but that only gets you so far to earning back public credibility.

I've been in circles where your = would be considered trivializing... but the branding has to improve, right? "Helping impoverished people" plays better than "diversity, equity, and inclusion" because one doesn't involve explaining nuanced history and gets right to action.

Once in a generation opportunity to reckon with socioeconomic disparity thru a singular, unifying focus on poverty and they (far left) squandered it. The drive to create othering for political ends is too strong and the outcome is just neverending splintering of ideals.
